Viļānu SIS launches a biogas station

Having raised 4m EUR capital for Viļānu Selekcijas un izmēģinājumu stacija (Viļānu SIS) to start a 1MW renewable energy project, Eventus Corporate Finance has now completed advising on project’s implementation.

The official opening of the 1 MW biogas station took place on 9th of December 2011, with the participation of Jānis Dūklavs, former Minister of Agriculture, Jēkabs Krieviņš, board member of the project’s financing bank JSC Latvijas Hipotēku un Zemes Banka, and other prominences.

“Thanks to our fruitful cooperation with Eventus, we now have a biogas station with the latest technology, which will help us develop our dairy farming business and the production of Vermicompost to further improve financial efficiency of the biogas station through the consumption of heat produced in the process of electrical power generation. In the coming years, we also plan to expand our herd of dairy cows and renovate the farm’s facilities,” Leopolds Zunda, the owner of Viļānu SIS.

Eventus advised the client on project management and strategic development which now totals to three years of productive cooperation. First stage of the project has now been successfully finished with the launch of electrical power generation and the start of sales to state enterprise AS Latvenergo. We look forward to help developing Viļānu SIS next business ideas,” Artūrs Lokastovs, Project Manager at Eventus.
